Results from the owners review of NORSOK standard portfolio

The NORSOK owners reviewed the use of and the content of all available NORSOK standards in 2015 and 2016. The recommendations for future development of the NORSOK portfolio was presented in November 2016. A detailed project report has also been released. This report is available in Norwegian and will be made available in English.

The recommendations, conclusions and priorities (positions) set in this document will be the primary guide for the revision portfolio at Standards Norway in the years to come. One example is the proposal to reduce the number of standards with 25 %. By doing so, resources can be made available and directed to development of other standards.

The recommendations will be forwarded Sector Board Petroleum Industry for decision and implementation into the NORSOK revision work program. The NORSOK experts will be central contributors to improve the standards according to the owners positions.
