Standardisering på området grafiske symboler med tilhørende farger og utforming utføres i ISO/TC 145. Sekretariatet er britisk. Arbeidet er tverrfaglig.

TC 145/SC 3 Graphical symbols for use on equipment
Det er spesielt innenfor gruppen SC 2 hvor det utarbeides symboler innenfor brannområdet.
