ISO Seminar on International Standardization in the Reliability Technology and Cost Area
ISO/TC 67/WG 4 and with Statoil (now Equinor) as a host organized a successful seminar entitled “International Standardization in the Reliability Technology and Cost Area” on Friday 4 May 2018. This was the 4th ISO seminar on this topic and was held at the Statoil offices in Houston.
The 40 seminar participants came from 37 different companies and 7 countries (e.g. USA, Norway and Brazil), and a wide range of companies like oil & gas companies, drilling contractors, service/suppliers and consulting companies, regulator and university.
The seminar participants were informed about latest international standardization status and their applications arena, through management sessions, technical sessions, and a panel discussion. Specific focus was given to the key standards ISO 14224 Reliability and maintenance data, ISO 19008 Standard cost coding system, and the next revision of ISO 20815.
The ISO Working Group, ISO/TC 67/WG 4 Reliability engineering and technology, is responsible for reliability and cost related ISO standards in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. Runar Østebo, Equinor, is the convenor of this working group and Standards Norway holds the secretariat.
Runar Østebø informs that this 4th ISO seminar showed the added business values by using these ISO standards, and participants expressed high satisfaction and that fruitful discussions took place at the seminar.
