Most of the international standardisation activities are organized in ISO/TC 67 "Materials, equipment and offshore structures for petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries". By first quarter 2008 161 standards are published and 69 active Work Items are on the programme. Norway takes part in all 6 sub-committees in ISO/TC 67, and contributes with experts in most of the working groups. The Norwegian petroleum industry participates also in many of other international standardisation committees.

Revised edition (Edition 4, January 2010) of NORSOK standard I-001 Field instrumentation is now available along with annexes for Installation drawings and Data sheets.
Med utgangspunkt i norsk kompetanse og erfaring, er det vedtatt å lage en internasjonal standard for kompakte flensforbindelser. Standarden forventes å komme på høring tidlig neste år.
